I love it when I stumble across on of these humorous variations. The Keep Calm and Carry On posters were part of a British Government commission during the spring of 1939 just before the outbreak of war with Germany. While this poster was never actually used, and its original writer/designer unknown, the poster was discovered with an old pile of books 50 years later and reproduced. It is now a cult item - particularly given its resonance during these uncertain times.
Of course, like any popular design, the poster has been reworked a variety of ways. Artists, designers, crafters and average Joe's have been creating these posters and selling them on a wide range of materials. You can get a variation on your t-shirt, mug, tea-towel, carpet and who knows what else!
Here is a selection of my favorites...
This one speaks to my designer side - how many times have we all heard this? But we all have to get paid somehow...
"Fine, I can make it as big as you want - just don't tell anyone I'm your designer."
