Outfit this Art!
~ Wasted Time ~

PRODUCT DETAILS

I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier - any excuse to make a fashion collage! Plus it's a fun way to explore the mood of my artworks. I'm a long time fan of Polyvore, but they don't allow you to bookmark items from Etsy. Kaboodle however, does!

The search and arrangement features aren't as sophisticated as Polyvore (no transparent backgrounds or rotation tool), but it's a different approach and I like that I can now include Etsy finds.

So, what do you think? I'm thinking of having a competition for everyone - create your own outfit collage inspired by one of my artworks - with the winner receiving a free print. What d'ya reckon?

Stoopid

wordboner

Hindsight is a prick of a thing. You know you shouldn't do/say whatever it is at the time, but your emotions get the better of you. You listen to your friends' advice and then totally ignore it. Consequences be damned. And then you realise you acted like a douche-bag and there's no way of sugar coating it.

Yeah - that's been me this past week. I've done that routine so many times before I don't think I'll ever listen to my own advice. Upshot of it all is that I get a hell of a lot of new artwork done. Keep your eyes peeled lovelies...

Identikit

5 - heydays

6 - ptarmak

[Urgh...after uploading all these images I realised I'd left that damn sticky-tape on top of them all. Serves me right for posting this at 3am. Meh.]

These are a few truly awesome identity designs that Fabien Barral of Graphic ExchanGE has posted. I stop by there quite often when I need some graphic inspiration, or to just oggle at the marvelousness (and perhaps wish I'd thought of those first).

Notice the vintage/retro theme going? Yep, I'm a sucker for the style. There could be some stitched card, retro typography, twine with brown paper and custom stamps on the horizon...

Style Sleuth: 09.02.10

Cuillère à absinthe, aka Cookies

Product Details

Who said feminine florals and grunge leathers didn't work together? Ah, no one actually. It's a fairly common (dare I say old) style these days. But it's endurance and popularity are testament to it's timeless contemporary style. Significantly, this dress is a good quality vintage garment, rather than the sale-bin variety that dominates '90s grunge looks of this nature. Making this more '00s chic than Courtney-Love-lookalike.

This French lass (well, of course she's French) has the perfect balance of pretty floral and vintage silk slip dress with leather biker jacket and boots. The dark, sheer tights with their little love heart detail ties the contrasting soft & tough together very nicely (with uber trendy snags and ladders).

Even better is the teeny "Drink Me" vial necklace by lesjumellesboutique. And what about that hair? Perfect rebellious colour.

Yeah. I'm jealous.

Cherry Good, Darling

I am obsessed with cherries. Not the glace rubbery ones on top of sundaes. I'm talking about the real deal - fresh from the farmer. We have them at xmas every year and I absolutely adore them. Better yet is cherry juice from the specialty grocer when I can get it. Brilliant for your health - choc-full of antioxidants. And the colour! A deep rosy red is one of my all time favorites hues. *sigh*

Outfit this Room!
One Hot Number

Design*Sponge

Time for another Outfit this Room! I love this home office - it has a 1920s private detective feel to it, albeit a totally stylish one. Combination of red, black and metal with vintage is a hands down winner. I was thinking Jessica Rabbit-esque lady for this outfit...

A tight red dress, sheer black tights and two tone t-strap heels is pretty darn hot. And even better with gloves and funky hat - and what about that clutch bag. Better watch out for this lady.

New Artworks
(& secret offer!)

Je t'adore by jordan clarke

I Knew Better (But I Believed You Anyway) by jordan clarke

If you follow my artwork and my lil' shop over on Etsy then you'll already be aware of these two new pieces. The first is one I created especially for Valentine's Day and the other is more in my Boys Break Hearts vein. Both feature hand stitched lettering - I've started stitching straight into the artwork rather than layering it in through Photoshop.

This work in progress shot (kinda) shows you the amount of detail that went into the stitching for I Knew Better, which in the end got fairly lost in the small artwork! I'll be listing the original Je t'adore that I stitched into for sale soon too. So keep your eyes peeled!

But more importantly...if you're a fan on Facebook, check your updates (click on Inbox, on the left is the link for fanpage updates). There might just be a very special limited time discount offer if you're quick...
